Feast of St. Catherine Laboure
Happy feast of St. Catherine Laboure!
"Whenever I go to the chapel, I put myself in the presence of our good Lord, and I say to him, Lord I am here. Tell me what you would have me to do. If he gives me some task, I am content and I thank him. If he gives me nothing, I still thank him since I do not deserve to receive anything more than that. And then, I tell God everything that is in my heart. I tell him about my pains and joys, and then I listen. If you listen, God will also speak to you, for with the good Lord, you have to both speak and listen. God always speaks to you when you approach him plainly and simply. "-St Catherine Laboure

I enjoyed doing a audio interview earlier today which will be available for you to listen to in the coming days. It's a snowy day here--perfect day to get some writing work done and hopefully make a delicious, healthy, turkey and veggie soup later on.
What are you doing today? Whatever it is, may you be richly blessed!

Father, all powerful,
your gifts of love are countless
and your goodness infinite.
On Thanksgiving Day we come before you
with gratitude for your kindness:
open our hearts to concern for our fellow men and women,
so that we may share your gifts in loving service.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
(opening prayer Thanksgiving Day Mass)
Enjoy the day! God bless you and yours!

Keeping it sane, simple, and holy on Thanksgiving!
What are your Thanksgiving plans? Tell us about them in the comment box. I'll try to write more for you soon. In the mean time, here's a radio segment from a previous Thanksgiving about "Keeping it sane, simple, and holy" with Teresa Tomeo and me on "Mom's Corner."
God bless you and yours!

Yours is the Church
Just got my copy! Yours is the Church by Mike Aquilina is a work of art!
Here's what I had to say about it: "Leave it to Mike Aquilina to skillfully dust off 2,000 years of Church history and make it come alive! Through intriguing topics, the author accurately illustrates how the Church has shaped humanity. This is THE book to learn about the Catholic Church--and in the most fascinating way."
I hope you can get your own copy.

Year of Faith project!
I'm excited to announce a new project I've started for the Year of Faith called, "Catholic Moms Talk." Take a look (in the link below) at the many wonderful contributors listed in the left hand column.
http://catholic-moms-talk.blogspot.com/
My hope and prayer is to bring the reader guidance and inspiration regarding studying the Catechism of the Catholic Church (which Pope Benedict has asked us to do during this year), as well as mothering tips, and discussions of mothering issues. Please join us there, feel free to leave comments and spread the word!
God bless!
