catching up, or trying to!

Hi everyone! I will be posting some things here soon. It's been so busy with work and family. My son got married! Yes, he did - he got married on Saturday! I'll share some photos and catch you up with things very soon.

In the meantime, I hope your summer is getting off to a good start. It's not officially summer yet, but feels like it. :)

Feel free to share here in the comments what you'd like to do this summer. Any plans? What books are you reading? What will you do with your children? Any trips planned? How are you planning to keep prayer in summer? I'll be posting an article about that soon.

Don't forget to enter my Grace Cafe: Take Me Away contest! There's still a little time to enter. See details here.

God bless and hugs!

Donna-Marie

  1. This summer I will continue to pray for the BP "nightmare well" to be capped. Having been born and raised in New Orleans, this situation hits my heart. The entire country should realize this involves EVERYBODY directly or indirectly. The past few weekends while at Mass, I have imagined being at Mass in those areas so close to the well. One of the national news shows did have a couple of segments and talked with residents after Mass. God heard my prayers. Let's pray for all the people along the Gulf Coast suffering from this result of greed.

  2. Donna, right now I'm reading Brian O'Neel's book on the new saints in preparation to interview him. No big plans for summer, really, but I will be attending a writing workshop in Pennsylvania in October. Excited about that. Have a good one, and congrats to you and your son (and the new member of your family)!

  3. Thanks for those prayers "heatnhumidity." I understand why it's extra upsetting to you. Let's pray that there's a solution to the devastating problem.

Thanks for stopping by. God bless you!

  5. Hi Donna-Marie~ I just finished your Grace Cafe book and loved it. It was chock full of inspiration! I especially savored all of the quotes. The tail- end of the book spoke to me with the section on suffering and saintly inspirations. I have a few of my favorite saints but your story about St. Joseph and that novena was new to me. I went and purchased that novena booklet as a gift for a family that I know who is suffering. i may never know the outcome but I trust and pray that St. Joseph interceded for them. Thank you for sharing your heart and soul...It was just beautiful. I have The Domestic Church waiting in the wings and I'd love to read Mother Teresa and Me as well:-) We are blessed with a wonderful Indian priest who just arrived at out parish who worked with Mother Teresa as a young man. Looking forward to hearing more from him! He is a beautiful soul. God bless you and thank you for sharing your gifts!

  6. Hi Tiffany!

Thank you so much for your kind words. I am glad you liked Grace Cafe and will be reading The Domestic Church. Let me know if you would like to start a group study with The Domestic Church and I will be happy to help you with books and advice if needed. :)

It's great you passed on St. Joseph to those who need him. He will certainly help. Also, I'm sure you'll learn a lot from your new priest.

    God bless you!

PS I peeked at your blog and your post about your clean desks and hoped you might consider coming to my place to help me straighten up mine. :)

  7. Thanks Donna-Marie! Wish we could pop over and help you out:-) We are definitely in the cleaning mode! Looks like we're on different coasts since we are in California:)
I may get back in touch with you about a small group study for Domestic Church. I just looked at my book and, silly me, didn't realize that was the main idea of the book! I need to look through it some more and think what to do. I must have picked it up for a reason;)
Have a blessed Solemnity of the birth of John the Baptist today!

  8. Hi again, Tiffany!

Happy feast to you too! The Domestic Church: Room By Room can be studied alone and even better in a group setting and all directions for leading the group and an answer guide are included in the book. It's a very popular study group book, if I may say so myself. :) If you decide to get a group together, just let me know. I give free shipping on group orders and all books will be autographed, of course!

I'm sure you know I was just kidding about your help with organizing my desk, but thanks for your kind words. :) I never have time to organize it the way I'd like it, but - someday!
