Summertime Book Contest: Grace Cafe: Take Me Away!

I think it's time for another book-give-away, don't you? With summer fast approaching, I thought I'd have a contest: GRACE CAFE - TAKE ME AWAY! What do you think? Summertime is an ideal season to be rejuvenated as we attempt to slow down a bit if we can and enjoy our families and all that the season of summer brings us.

So, with that said, all who leave a comment below will be entered into my contest. In your comment, tell me why you absolutely need to win a copy of GRACE CAFE: SERVING UP RECIPES FOR FAITHFUL MOTHERING for your summer reading. I will be awarding three books. Those of you who send me a photo of yourself reading one of my books to my email address DMCOBoyle(at)aol(dot)com) in addition to your comment, will be entered THREE times into the drawing! If the winners already own Grace Cafe, they may choose another of my books as their prize.

Regarding the photos, your face can be covered if you wish (with the book you are reading) or whatever you'd like. Don't be shy. You can be creative too. I possibly will follow up with an additional contest and enter the most creative photos received. Some or all photos received might be posted on my blogs or website. So, entering your photo, gives your permission to be posted.

You only have until June 21st, the official first day of summer to get me your comments and photos. The contest ends at midnight Eastern time of June 20th. So, be quick and get your entries in! Also, you may enter for someone else too. For instance, if you'd like your mother, friend, cousin, daughter, or whomever to have a chance to win too, just send in a comment and explain why that person should win. Remember, photos get you a better chance of winning. Plus, of course, I'd love to see you in them! :) Please be sure to leave a contact email address in the comment and with the photo so that I can contact you should you win.

Good luck and God bless everyone! Stay tuned here too for some additional summer posts. I'd love to hear from you!

hugs,

Donna-Marie

  1. Awesome contest! Well, first I think I should win a book because my name is Donna Marie too! ♥ I am a weak but trying to become stronger, Catholic. Thanks a lot to a great friend of mine. Christine. She is awesome too.
We both adore Mother Teresa. You are soooo lucky that you knew her! I am an RN and once met another RN who had known and spent time with Mother Teresa!
Anyway, back to the contest. I believe that I should win one of the copies because I am a mother of 3 sons....and I 'need' any help I can get! Books are awesome when everyone's in bed. ;]
Right now I am reading 'The hidden power of kindness' by Fr. Lovasik. It's a wonderful book. I have learned an immense amt in it, as far as how unkind I can be/have been in my 40yrs of life.
I always strive to be a better wife, mother and person in general.
If you don't pick me as a winner, pls atleast say a prayer for my teen son, Michael. He has had a rough 3yrs.....and is in need of God. I offer up my sufferings constantly for him.
Thank you and God bless you for having this contest.

  3. Hi Donna:

I hope I found the right plane. I would love a copy of your book. I ask Christ always to partner with me in raising my four children. I can use all the help I can get to continue especially in these times. There is one in college, one in high school and two in elementary school- all needing guidance and direction. Thank you. 7. I would love a copy of the book. It has been hard to nourish my relationship with God. We are living half the country away from everyone we know. We have 3 active boys and baby girl due in 3 months and we just moved. My husband is the only person I can ask to help me with household chores (lifting boxes, unpacking, hanging pictures) but he is busy working full time, trying to finish his dissertation and visiting his doctor at the wound care clinic every week.

  8. My name is Christine. I am a wife and stay at home Catholic mom to 2 beautiful children. I need to get myself back on track. Sometimes I am so stressed out as a mom I am not sure which way to turn. Sometimes I am just to ashamed to turn to God, after all the mistakes I make. That is where Grace Cafe comes in to play. I need a great big ol serving of Grace! God is good and always there for me. I pray more than anything that I am not only a good mom, but a good example to my kids of how to life their life. I would love a copy of your book. God bless you for reaching out to woman like me.

  10. I would love to win a copy of your book. I am a mom of three kids, one with severe special needs. I try very hard to turn to the Lord to give me strength and his Grace IS enough, but "visiting" your Grace cafe would strengthen my zeal to live my vocation as a mother. Thanks for the opportunity!

  11. I would really love the chance to read your book Grace Cafe, because right now I could use all the grace I can get! I'm a stay at home Catholic Mom of three kids under age 4 and am starting to feel discouraged. It's so hard to keep up with everything in the home and caring for all these small children. On top of that I have fibromyalgia and sometimes cannot physically handle all I'm required to do. My husband is a huge help, Praise the Lord. I'm relying on the Lord for strength! I'm seeking out spiritual pick-me-ups! I just received your Book "The Heart of Motherhood" for Mother's Day and am enjoying it so much. Thanks for this opportunity!

  13. I recently moved and JUST as I was moving, the mama playgroup/bookclub voted on THIS book for their reading! I am really in need of this type of refreshers as I feel I've got the work from home mama thing down - WORK wise, around the house and with my job, but I need to put my FAITH back into my everyday, every task, life. From what I have heard, this would be the perfect book to read!

  14. I would love a copy of your book! I only recently was introduced to your blog by a friend and am really enjoying it! It would be such a blessing, I am in need of some inspiration!

  15. Well, I have a copy of this book already so this entry is for a dear friend. She's had a long year (her husband lost his job) and she could really use some special treatment. She is one of the most special people I've ever known. A homeschooling mother of 7 and a great support to me in many different areas of my life.

  16. What a wonderful blessing this book would be! I just finished reading "Mother Teresa & Me" - fabulous! Why should I win? I am wife (16.5 years), mother (4 biological children), foster mother (2 current foster children, one of them is special needs - and 12 former foster children that I still love, care about, worry about, and pray for every day) - our family is almost always in some sort of "transition" - my constants are my GOD in the most Holy Trinity, my Blessed Mother, and my Church meaning the Catholic Church.

  17. I have this book and bought it because I thought it would provide the inspiration and encouragement I needed as a parent of a child with special needs. The book lived up to its title, and by the time I got to the last page I was ready for a sequel. Because I already have this book, I'd love to win a copy of your book "Catholic Prayer Book For Mothers."

  18. Hi Donna Marie! I would love a copy of your book. My mom's book club just finished your Domestic Church and we loved it. I would really love Grace Cafe because we are having a difficult time deciding whether to homeschool or send our preschooler to preschool in the fall. It would just be a blessing to have your book by my side while we make these tough but rewarding choices. Thanks for the chance to win and I'll be sending an email in soon :)

  20. I am in such need for God in my life but with the "busy-ness" of motherhood, many times I find myself feeing numb and just going through the motions. I have two little ones and my third on the way and I just need to know how to be a better mom and teach my kids the way of God and goodness. I have a feeling your book, Grace Cafe, will be a big help to me and I wish I could buy it...but unfortunately our finances are far from well. I wasn't intending to sound so pitiful but somehow it's what my comment has become. God bless you for all the good you do.
