The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

From the Entrance Antiphon from our Mass today...

"Let us rejoice in the Lord and celebrate this feast in honor of the Virgin Mary, at whose assumption the angels rejoice, giving praise to the Son of God."

Our opening prayer...

"All-powerful and ever-living God,
you raised the sinless Virgin Mary,
mother of your Son,
body and soul to the glory of heaven.
May we see heaven as our final goal
and come to share her glory.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever."

Queen of families, pray for us!

Let's pray a Rosary today for God's holy will. And in the words of dear Blessed Mother Teresa..."Mary, Mother of Jesus, be a Mother to me now."

  1. Donna, there were so many mentionings of motherhood in the prayers during my time at St. Ben's. I thought of you, and all of us who have this as our primary vocation. I am so glad we have Mary as an example and guiding presence.
