My book is the "Book Pick" at the National Catholic Register

My book, Grace Cafe: Serving up Recipes for Faithful Mothering was chosen as the "Book Pick" by the National Catholic Register this week...

A Casual Encounter With Grace

BY Father Walter Schu, LC

"Grace Café is an aptly titled book. How does one discover grace — that sublime reality so distant from most people’s vocabulary today and, sadly, so often absent from their lives?

Within these pages, seasoned author Donna-Marie Cooper O’Boyle makes that elusive encounter with grace seem as casual and natural as a mid-morning rendezvous with an old friend at the local café.

Fyodor Dostoyevsky once said, “Beauty will save the world.” If that is true, then Grace Café — addressed specifically to mothers — could bring many mothers one step closer to salvation.

Even, and especially, in the midst of the daily trials of raising a family, such as being confronted with a steadily growing mountain of unfolded clothes, the beauty of motherhood alights from the page to capture hearts...." (Go to Embracing Motherhood for entire review)

  1. Congratulations! I look forward to reading it!

  2. This book has been inspiration of faith and encouragement to me. I had been praying for God to show me how to raise my children in a way that pleased Him. And along came this book & The Heart of Motherhood! They have gotten me all excited, inspired & encouraged in not only my mothering, but I have fallen head over heels in love with our Catholic faith! I love all Donna-Marie's books and I had to share with my family and they loved them too. Donna-Marie your books are incredibly positive and very refreshing!! I do honestly believe that God used you to bring me closer to Him and I couldn't be happier!! Or blessed! ;)

    God Bless & Hugs~

  3. Jennifer,

You are very sweet! It warms my heart to read your sentiments. I pray that Our dear Lord will continue to bless you in great abundance!

Keep the joy of loving Jesus in your heart and let your light shine sharing it with others!

    God bless and big hugs!

  4. What a beautiful title and cover photo. I like your perspective of folding laundry -- a task I tend to gripe about. It really is never-ending.

  5. Monica,

Thank you very much! Grace Cafe is a fun but serious book about Catholic mothering.

Regarding the laundry...just think of all the prayers we can get in and graces we can hopefully receive for ourselves and our family when lovingly performing these tasks!!
